I often travel outside of New Mexico for on-site appraisals. Formal written appraisal reports from clear, in-focus digital photographs, showing multiple close-up angles and any signatures or hallmarks can be accomplished. Photographs should be taken with a good digital camera and the appropriate close-up lens.
After careful examination of the photographs, written measurements and condition reports for each item to be appraised, a proposal for my fee will be issued.
In order to exercise full due diligence, there are exceptions to conducting written appraisals from photographs: A verbal consultation service, known as a restricted oral appraisal is meant to provide information to the client in order to make a decision regarding options such as resale, equitable distribution, general information or to determine the need for obtaining a formal written appraisal for insurance, charitable donation and other purposes.
